Job Opportunity: Material Handler - Blacktown, Sydney. 1-year contract.
Our client is seeking a dependable and experienced Material Handler to join their warehouse operations team based in Blacktown. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high standards in inventory control, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure smooth and compliant warehouse operations.
* Dispatch goods accurately for sales orders and inter-branch transfers.
* Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity, and actively participate in bi-annual and annual stock takes.
* Optimise warehouse storage space to maximise capacity.
* Work collaboratively with team members to meet productivity targets.
* Participate in twice-yearly performance reviews.
* Escalate issues beyond your control to the reporting manager and assist in resolving them.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment through effective facility management and housekeeping.
* Suggest and implement improvements to workplace processes and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with stock control and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role.
* Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
* Valid forklift licence counterbalance and/or high reach experience (highly regarded).
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computer skills.
