Job Description
BlueScope is an Australian-born global success story spanning 15 countries. Our team of over 16,500 people is our strength and we want our people to be safe, successful and well. We're leaders and innovators in transforming steel into smart products and solutions that support society, today and in the future. We're proud of brands, like COLORBOND steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.
The Opportunity
Due to growing business needs, our Lysaght business is looking for a Customer Service Supervisor to join the Townsville team. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects. This is an on-site leadership role where you'll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality customer outcomes.
This is a stable, long-term leadership role where you'll guide a small, engaged team while building strong customer relationships. You'll benefit from a structured rotating roster with early finishes on Fridays, full training on systems and products, and the support of a safe, people-focused workplace where your leadership and ideas genuinely make a difference.
You'll receive a copy of the roster for the next 12 months, giving you certainty and predictability. Rotations include:
* Day Shift (Week 1): Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm; Friday: 7:00am – 2:00pm
* Afternoon Shift (Week 2): Monday–Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm; Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
What Will You Do?
As Customer Service Supervisor, you'll be the link between customers, your team, and site operations. Your focus will be on people leadership, communication, and smooth day-to-day delivery. You'll enjoy:
* leading, coaching, and supporting a team of Customer Service Representatives
* setting clear expectations and creating a positive, accountable team environment
* managing customer enquiries, orders, and escalations with professionalism and care
* building strong working relationships with production, logistics, and sales teams
* ensuring systems and processes are followed accurately and efficiently
* identifying opportunities to improve service, communication, and team capability
More About You
We're open to leaders from a variety of backgrounds. You don't need industry experience, we'll train you on our products and systems. What matters most is how you lead and communicate. You'll bring:
* proven experience leading or supervising a team (any customer-facing or operational environment)
* excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers and internal stakeholders
* strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities
* a calm, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
* confidence working on-site and being present with your team
* a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Why BlueScope
