The Role
Reporting to the Underground Manager at Dalgaranga Gold Mine, you will be a key contributor in the mining production cycle, delivering the underground planning activities including:
- Update and maintain mine planning and design procedures.
- Complete planning and scheduling activities to ensure execution of production outcomes;
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and long-term Life-of-Mine (LOM) forecasts and mining schedules in consultation with the group Technical Services team;
- Develop, compare, and rank mining strategies with assistance from Senior Mine Geologists and Underground Manager. Produce scenarios and strategies
- Communicate LOM planning to relevant stakeholders for awareness of future targets and direction of the mining operation.
- Update mining costs in line with actuals on a 12-month rolling average.
- Assist with establishing cut-off grades quarterly, based on various gold price scenarios.
- Support the execution of gold price sensitivities on the LOM plan.
- Review economic evaluations for mine designs within the Engineering Team. Ensure designs are optimised such that financial objectives are being met and all material meets determine cut-off grades.
- Identify any opportunities for costs savings during mine design process and assist to prepare yearly mining budgets.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Underground production and scheduling experience from within underground mine environments.
- Experience in all aspects of mine design (lateral/vertical development and production).
- Knowledge of mining planning software (Deswik).
- Exposure and experience contributing to all planning processes, including long to short term outcomes.
- Emerging technical knowledge and practical application of relevant mining legislation and implications.
- A current West Australian C Class (manual) driver's licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance.
