Offer description

The Role: Technical Leadership at the Frontier

This is not a traditional desk‐bound Project Management role. As an Infrastructure Specialist, you are the technical bridge between visionary strategy and physical delivery. You won't just be managing timelines; you will be exercising professional engineering judgment to solve problems that have no Australian precedent.

You will lead the technical charge in:

* Critical Decision‐Making: Providing the engineering "green light" on complex assets that support national nuclear capability.
* Systems Performance: Moving beyond simple maintenance to optimise high‐stakes infrastructure for long‐term reliability.
* Risk Architecture: Identifying and mitigating technical risks in a high‐governance, safety‐critical environment.
No Nuclear Experience? No Problem.

We aren't looking for a finished nuclear physicist; we are looking for a brilliant engineer who is ready to become one. We recognise that this is a new frontier for Australia, and we are committed to building your expertise from the ground up.

* Extensive Specialist Training: Access to world‐class training programs designed to transition your existing engineering skills into the nuclear domain.
* A Culture of Lifelong Learning: We actively encourage applications from academics, researchers, and "perpetual students"—those who have a genuine passion for deep study and professional evolution.
* Trailblazing Career Path: You will be among the first generation of Australian engineers to develop this specific sovereign capability, making your expertise some of the most sought‐after in the country.
The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is an adaptable, outcomes‐driven engineer with strong infrastructure planning and delivery experience. We specifically encourage academics and those with a passion for deep study to apply, as extensive training will be provided to transition your skills into the nuclear domain.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:
* Technical Competence: Experience in infrastructure engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Multi‐disciplinary systems) and a desire to build home‐grown sovereign expertise.
* Analytical Rigor: Strong problem‐solving capability with the ability to assess risks, interpret data, and apply engineering principles to inform critical decisions.
* Effective Communication: Proven collaboration skills, including engaging with stakeholders, contractors, and technical specialists.
* Independence & Governance: Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities while contributing to project governance and technical documentation.
* Proactive Mindset: A focus on innovation, safety, and continuous improvement to support organizational capability and national security.
Remuneration & Benefits
* Salary up to: $115k + Super (with flexibility)
* Building Capability Payment (BCP): Additional premium recognising your critical engineering discipline.
* Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates moving to WA, SA, or the ACT.
* Work‐Life Balance: Generous allowances and conditions under the Enterprise Agreement.
* Industry‐leading Study Allowances: Grow your skills, education and capabilities with full funding for Masters, PhD, etc.
Requirements
* Citizenship: Australian Citizen.
* Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a high‐level security clearance.
* Location: Opportunities available in WA, SA, and ACT.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Hudson is committed to helping you find a workplace where you feel respected, supported, and free to thrive. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences—because when different voices come together, amazing things happen.

Casual Loading: Please note for all Australian‐based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed‐term roles.
