The Role:
We're seeking a capable and motivated Accountant to join our team. In this role you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including income tax return lodgements, superannuation and BAS/IAS.
* Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, reconciliations and account analyses.
* Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
* Contribute to process improvements, documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
* Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Xero/MYOB/Cashflow Manager, etc)
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to work to deadlines.
* Good verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly Regarded but not a requirement:
* Experience using HandiSoft.
* Hold or working towards a CPA or CA.
