* Fixed Term FullTime opportunity available until March 2027 (9-day fortnight)
* Knowledge and understanding of the Local Laws and other relevant legislation, regulations and governing laws applicable to the role
* LGO 4 ($79,413 - $85,123 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the Role

This role is responsible for conducting investigations, inspections, and approvals under state and local laws. You'll work across a broad range of areas including:

* Animal management, including the handling of animals and promoting responsible pet ownership
* Public health and safety
* Unauthorised use of Council land and footpath obstructions
* Other Local Law matters

You'll be part of a collaborative team that supports Council's purpose of Growing Townsville, delivering outcomes aligned with our Corporate Plan and community expectations.


What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who:

* Has a strong understanding of relevant legislation and local laws
* Can investigate and compile evidence for enforcement and prosecution
* Is confident working independently and making sound decisions
* Is comfortable handling domesticated animals and potentially aggressive dogs
* Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person
* Skilled in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
* Is flexible to work after-hours and on a rostered schedule


Qualifications & Requirements

* Valid Queensland "C" Class driver's licence – Essential
* Certificate IV or Diploma in a relevant field – Obtainable

* White Card
* First Aid Certificate
