Morson is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Welders to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical engineering projects across our diverse business areas, including Warships, Submarines, and our dedicated factories that support these complex undertakings. Job Description:
Responsibilities
* Working on ships, submarines and within a factory environment
* Competent within some or all of the following:
* FCAW
* MMA
* MIG
* TIG
* Be able to undertake regular welding requalification to meet required standards
* You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to welding.
* Ideally, you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships, although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
* Experience of working within a marine engineering environment
Qualifications
* Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role
* Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to the role
* Time served apprentice within the field of marine engineering / naval engineering environment
* IR35: Inside Duration: 26 Weeks
* SC Clearance is required for this role.
