An exciting opportunity exists in the City of Mandurah's Governance and Commercial Services team for an experienced and suitably qualified individual who has extensive knowledge of procurement and contracts to lead the Procurement Services team. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of procurement specialist services and provide advice to a broad range of stakeholders across diverse projects to conduct sourcing activities and deliver contracts. In addition, you will oversee the ongoing development and improvement of the City's centre-led procurement function.

**But enough about us, let's talk about you**
You will play an integral part in ensuring Council is compliant with its legislative obligations by being accountable for the ongoing development and improvement of the City's centre-led procurement function. You will lead the Procurement team in the delivery of procurement specialist services, education and advice to a broad range of stakeholders across diverse project areas to deliver procurements and execute contracts.
In addition, you will build expertise across the organisation to achieve effective outcomes focused on procurement, robust governance and risk mitigation and improved procurement and contract management practices (more details of the duties and responsibilities of the role can be found within the position description). You will deliver training and advice on procurement best practice across the organisation to ensure CoM is an industry leader in obtaining best value for money and maintaining regulatory and operational compliance.
**What you will bring to the team**
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Possession of a degree in Commerce or Law.
- 5 years working at a senior level providing advice relating to the management of procurement functions and contract administration.
- Minimum 3 years' team management experience.
- Experience working with and knowledge of Local Government Act and relevant legislation.
- Exceptional interpersonal, customer service and relationship building skills including community engagement.
- High level strategic thinking, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- High level written communication skills with the ability to prepare complex and technical documents.
- High level ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and strict confidentiality.
- Strong capacity to manage and prioritise work responsibilities to achieve target outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively to build professional relationships and cooperate with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.

**The finer details**
This full-time permanent position attracts a competitive Level 9 annual remuneration of $130,298 - $138,953 plus superannuation plus $10,000 motor vehicle allowance per annum dependent on qualifications and experience and a wide range of benefits to reward your contribution.
