District mechanical officer (dmo1) (melbourne)

This is an open advertisement for the District Mechanical Officer (DMO) role with the Country Fire Authority (CFA). The DMO will be based at one of CFA's 13 state-based workshops, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on the department's fleet of firefighting and specialised vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fleet assets are maintained in accordance with appropriate industry standards and CFA maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed.
• Create electronic work orders using CFA software.
• Liaise with brigade members regarding proposed work and work performed.
• Maintain reporting to the Officer‐in‐Charge on maintenance, administrative and technical matters.
• Ensure Industrial Safety Standards are observed.

Qualifications

• Motor Mechanic qualification and hold a Heavy Rigid driver licence (a licence can be obtained within the timeframes set out by CFA if not currently held).
• First Aid Level 2 and ability to maintain safety at an incident scene and render assistance to others (the Level 2 qualification can be obtained within the timeframes set out by CFA if not currently held).
• Experience in preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications in a clean environment.
• Good understanding of safety and compliance standards.
