Key Responsibilities:
* Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders and project teams.
* Develop and enhance cost control tools, processes, and procedures.
* Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on best practices in cost management.
* Partner with project managers and budget holders to support effective financial decision-making.
* Prepare accurate and timely periodic cost reports in collaboration with internal teams.
* Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify discrepancies and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
* Monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
* Forecast costs for project line items in consultation with project teams.
* Assess potential variations and claims from subcontractors and vendors.
* Support ad hoc cost analyses and participate in project review meetings as required.
* Act as a liaison between engineering, accounts, and project teams to ensure financial clarity.
* Recommend process improvements for more effective cost control.
* Build and maintain historical cost databases for future reference.
About You:
* Several years of experience in cost control within the Oil & Gas or related industries, preferably on international, large-scale projects with progressively increasing responsibilities.
* A background in Quantity Surveying is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated expertise in cost control with fully developed technical competencies.
* Ability to establish and enhance standards, procedures, and processes.
* Experience in developing project budgets aligned with standardized structures.
* Skilled in producing accurate cost forecasts to support project management objectives.
* Comprehensive variance analysis, including quantities, costs, labor hours, and productivity metrics.
* Ensures the accuracy and quality of deliverables produced by junior team members.
* Strong understanding of estimating methodologies and practices.
* Proficient in reviewing and refining estimates for changes in project scope or trends.
* Thorough knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) requirements across all project phases.
