Technology Assistant

Iona College Geelong is seeking a motivated, organised, and hands-on Technology Assistant to support our growing Technology Department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our practical learning spaces operate safely, efficiently, and creatively for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
The Technology Assistant will:
* Prepare, cut, and finish materials for student projects.
* Provide technical and practical support to teachers and students during classes.
* Maintain and organise technology spaces, including storerooms, tools, and equipment.
* Monitor stock levels, organise deliveries, and manage storage of materials.
* Ensure safe use of tools, machinery, and hazardous materials, including maintenance and documentation.
* Keep workshops and preparation areas clean, safe, and functional.
* Support students who need extra help with projects, including supervision during class and some lunchtimes.
* Assist with displays and exhibitions of student work, occasionally outside normal hours.
About You:
The successful candidate will:
* Have strong practical/technical skills, ideally with experience in woodwork, materials technology, or a related trade.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Be proactive, safety-focused, and confident working in a busy workshop environment.
* Enjoy supporting students and collaborating with teachers.
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working With Children Check and relevant safety certifications.
