Our pumps and pipeline team in Brisbane is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Mechanical Designer with expertise in Autodesk Plant3D to support a range of exciting projects in mining, tailings, water, and hydropower.
Responsibilities
* Design and update 3D models of piping, mechanical equipment, and plant layouts in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
* Produce 2D general arrangement drawings, 3D isometric assemblies, pipe routing drawings, and fabrication details.
* Create PFDs, P&IDs, and generate equipment, valve, and piping lists.
* Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate mechanical systems across disciplines.
* Support clash detection and layout coordination using detailed 3D models.
* Ensure compliance with engineering specs and relevant standards (ASME, AS, ISO).
* Manage drawing revisions in line with change control procedures.
Qualifications
* Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* 10+ years' experience in mechanical/piping design within mining, industrial, or process sectors.
* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D (including P&ID), Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
* Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and plant layout principles.
* Familiarity with Australian and international standards (AS, ASME, ISO).
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages.
* Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable Attributes
* Experience with Inventor and other Autodesk tools.
* Understanding of BIM workflows and interdisciplinary coordination.
* Exposure to mining, tailings, water, or energy projects.
* Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and collaborative teamwork.
* Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.
