As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building and supporting enterprise data platforms, pipelines and integration solutions that enable business operations and strategic decision making.
You will work hands on across modern data engineering, analytics platforms and system integrations, helping connect operational systems with cloud data environments in a scalable, reliable way.
Working closely with the BI and Automation Lead, technology teams and business stakeholders, you will ensure data solutions are delivered securely, accurately and in line with enterprise standards. This role offers strong technical ownership within a small, agile and high performing team.
What you will be doing
* Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations to support reporting, analytics, automation and applications
* Develop and support API based integrations using REST services, JSON and secure authentication
* Deliver data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake as core analytics platforms
* Design and implement data warehouse models and architecture patterns to support enterprise analytics
* Lead data ingestion, transformation and modelling across multiple source systems
* Optimise data structures and pipelines for performance, reliability and efficiency
* Implement data quality controls, validation rules and governance practices
* Contribute to automation initiatives leveraging data platforms and Power Platform capabilities
* Support Power BI datasets, semantic models and reporting performance where required
* Write, optimise and maintain advanced SQL across large and complex datasets
* Act as a technical escalation point for complex data, platform and integration issues
* Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, flows and dependencies
What you bring
* Strong hands on experience in data engineering, integration and analytics platform development
* Advanced SQL skills with experience working across large, multi source datasets
* Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric and or Snowflake, including data modelling
* Experience designing data warehouse solutions using modern architecture patterns
* Strong understanding of APIs, REST services, JSON and data transformation
* Experience with Power BI including data modelling and performance optimisation
* Exposure to source control and CI CD practices such as Azure DevOps or Git
* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem solving skills
* Experience in transport, logistics or complex operational environments is advantageous
