About the Role

Reporting to: Senior Trade AccountantEmployment Type: 12-Month Fixed Term, Full-TimeWork Location: South Wharf, Melbourne

As a Management Accountant, you will ensure the timely and accurate submission of trade financial results to management in compliance with company policies and procedures. You will also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to analyze financial data and support decision‐making.

The role also supports cost optimisation initiatives, benchmarking activities across Oceania Agencies, and provides financial analysis and ad hoc support to the Cost Control Manager, CFO, and Financial Controllers.

The role and responsibilities will include:

* Preparing and submitting accurate trade financial results in a timely manner.
* Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
* Performing cost and revenue reconciliations for trade operations.
* Ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
* Collaborating with internal teams, such as Line Management, Operations, and Cost Control, to support financial processes.
* Liaising with external stakeholders, including CMA CGM/ANL Representative Offices, on trade‐related financial matters.
* Assisting the Senior Trade Accountant in preparing detailed reports and supporting audits.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and reporting.
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* The ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* A proactive and self‐motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently.
* Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with prior experience in a similar role being highly regarded.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the entire duration of the contract.

New Zealand citizens planning to relocate temporary to Melbourne, Australia, are more than welcome to apply.
