Prince of Wales Hospital Radiation Oncology Department has three Elekta Linacs, Raystation TPS, Monaco TPS, Brainlab Elements Software and ExacTrac for SRS cases, VisionRT SGRT on two linacs, Toshiba LB CT, XStrahl SXRT unit.

We have access to the UNSW 3T Siemens MRI for planning patients. Staff are rotated through the treatment units and planning.

Candidates are expected to be competent with standard radiotherapy techniques and workflows. Sydney Childrens Hospital is on campus, so our case mix includes paediatric patients. Knowledge of radiation safety standards and legislation is mandatory.

Planning and delivery of Radiation Therapy to the prescription of the attending Radiation Oncologist. Provide a high level of patient care and understanding of patient needs.

Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
* Graduate of an accredited course in Medical Radiation Science - Radiation Therapy.
* Current AHPRA registration. Holder of NSW EPA Radiation User Licence.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience of current and emerging Radiotherapy techniques and technology and their application.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrate organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Sound knowledge of QA and quality controls required to ensure safe and accurate treatment.
* Provide a high level of patient care and the ability to empathise with patients and their individual needs.
* Commitment to CPD activities and quality improvement activities.
