Systems Engineer
Location: Adelaide
Type: Full-time, Casual (Contract)
Duration: ASAP Start – 12 Months
Salary: $610/day ($81.41/hour incl. casual loading)
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join a key Engineering Directorate within a large public infrastructure division on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic infrastructure projects that introduce new concepts and drive continuous improvement across a broad asset base.
This role is ideal for a Systems Engineer with a background in Defence, Rail, or other structured engineering environments.
Please note: This is not a computer or IT systems engineering role.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will:
* Apply systems engineering principles to infrastructure projects in the water and wastewater sectors.
* Develop system requirements, architecture, and structured processes for complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
* Support integration and lifecycle optimisation of engineering systems.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives through process design, modelling, and analytics.
* Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline (Essential)
* Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering in complex infrastructure projects (Essential)
* Strong understanding of systems integration, requirements analysis, and lifecycle engineering
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience in sectors such as Defence or Rail preferred
* Familiarity with MBSE and digital engineering tools (Desirable)
* Project management experience or certification (Desirable)
