We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to share the lead of the housekeeping team at Mercure Rockhampton. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone who thrives on attention to detail, leads from the front, and is passionate about developing staff and delivering high quality rooms.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper / Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the housekeeping team, leading the team, maintaining high standards, and ensuring a welcoming, professional environment for guests.
You will work closely with the maintenance and reception team to ensure positive guest experiences on every occasion.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead housekeeping operations in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper - covering RDO's, annual leave and other times as required
* Create outstanding guest experiences and manage service recovery
* Assist in the recruitment, training, rostering, and supervision of housekeeping team members
* Provide hands-on leadership
* Assist in managing labour costs, rosters, and productivity within budget
* Ensure compliance with WHS, Accor and hotel standards
* Maintain presentation, cleanliness, and ambience at all times
About You
Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a hotel/motel environment
* Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, service-focused approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Sound understanding of rosters, labour control, and stock management/ordering
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
* Passion for hospitality and guest service
* Willingness to clean rooms, operate commercial laundry and other housekeeping tasks as required
* Full training provided on Mercure standards and procedures
* Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays.
* Current First aid and National police check, or willingness to obtain
