Our client is one of the largest privately owned heavy engineering groups in the Southern hemisphere based in Gillman and are now seeking the services of an experienced National Safety Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. You will be someone who has been in a similar role with your core function of overseeing the safety and return to work functions across their national operations.
This position will suit an experienced safety-focused individual who is looking to take that next step in their career pathway.
**Some of the core responsibilities include**: 
Responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Risk Assessment Registers 
Conduct management review meetings and monitoring the management systems performance 
Maintains, updates, and improves the company Integrated Management System 
Establish and maintain a safe working workplace to meet legislative requirements inclusive of site maintenance 
Ensure the objectives of the company's IMS Policy and system procedures are fully understood and communicated at all levels 
Ensure that Managers and Safety Officers are effectively managing on site WHS&E; such as Tool Box meetings, SOP reviews, Safety Walk Through's etc. as per the company WHS&E; Manual.
**Some of key attributes we are seeking**: 
Understanding of legal health and safety guidelines 
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies 
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessments 
Excellent organisational and motivational skills 
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability 
Ability to travel interstate 
Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
