Axis Hire is a rapidly expanding truck and vehicle hire company operating in the Mining, Civil and Construction sectors throughout Australia. Axis Hire has become a name that's synonymous with high quality, long term fleet hire.
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated Trades Assistant to join our team as a permanent member of staff. The primary function of this role is to maintain our fleet to the highest standards.
Duties Include:
* Assist Mechanics and Boilermakers with heavy machinery and parts
* Operate Forklift
* Assist with general workshop housekeeping and upkeep of equipment.
* Operate a range of hand and power tools
* Perform basic repairs and servicing of vehicles and equipment under supervision.
* Change tyres on light and heavy vehicles.
* Pick up and deliver parts and consumables as required.
* Wash vehicles and heavy mobile equipment in the designated wash pad area.
About You
* Mechanically minded with a good understanding of hand tools.
* Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
* Strong focus on safety, quality and cleanliness in the workplace.
* Good communication skills and a motivated, reliable attitude.
The Minimum requirements would be
* Current motor vehicle licence
* Police clearance
Preference would be granted to those applicants that hold the following qualifications:
* HR License
* High Risk Work Licence (Forklift) desirable.
Applicants must have Australian residency to be considered for this role. Only applicants that currently reside in Australia will be considered.
