About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst to join our investment team. The analyst will play a key role in supporting the portfolio manager by identifying, researching, and evaluating public equity investments for a long/short strategy. This role requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, business models, and market dynamics, as well as the ability to develop differentiated investment theses and communicate them clearly.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct fundamental research on potential long and short investment opportunities across various sectors within a specific coverage universe.
* Build and maintain financial models and valuations.
* Perform industry and competitive analysis to identify secular trends and company-specific drivers.
* Monitor existing portfolio positions and recommend adjustments based on changing company or macro fundamentals.
* Generate actionable investment ideas with clearly articulated theses, catalysts, and risk/reward profiles.
* Participate in management meetings, earnings calls, sell-side conferences, and other industry events.
* Write internal research notes and produce client presentations.
Qualifications
* Must have: 3–5 years of relevant experience in equity research ("Sell Side") or funds management ("Buy Side").
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
* Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.
* Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements.
* Self-starter with a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
* Ability to think independently and challenge consensus views.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Preferred Attributes
* Prior experience in long/short equity strategies.
* Familiarity with data platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar tools.
