Intelligence and Warnings Officer, Clerk Grade 5/6 **Casual Positions & Talent Pool creation**

* This recruitment is for the creation of a Casual Pool and Talent Pool
* Shifts are 12.5hrs in length across a night and day pattern. Regularity of shifts is not guaranteed.
* Training commencing 18 May 2026
* Location: Wollongong (onsite full time)

About the opportunity We are currently recruiting to fill multiple casual roles and create a talent pool for the Intelligence and Warnings Officer role within our State Operations Centre. This recruitment may also be used for future temporary, contract or ongoing positions. The Intelligence and Warnings Officer is a crucial role that helps protect the NSW communities from the risk of floods, storms, and tsunamis. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and disseminating operational information and intelligence, as well as distributing community warning and alerting products. This role requires a high level of expertise in intelligence gathering, analysis, and interpretation. The Intelligence and Warnings Officer is a key player in safeguarding communities from natural disasters to ensure that NSW communities are well-informed and prepared to face any challenges that come their way. This is an exciting role that requires a unique set of skills and knowledge to help keep the community safe.

About you To be successful in this role you will have:
* Availability to complete the initial training commencing on 18 May 2026, which consists of a 2-week full time course. The training is paid and is onsite at the NSW SES State Headquarters (SHQ) in Wollongong
* Tertiary qualifications or proven relevant experience in a related field with foundational knowledge in intelligence principals
* A thorough knowledge of AIIMS principles and processes, and/or willingness to obtain competence within 12 months
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
* Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

o Clerk Grade 5, Year 1 – $62.93
o Clerk Grade 5, Year 2 – $64.92
o Clerk Grade 6, Year 1 – $67.46
o Clerk Grade 6, Year 2 – $69.44
