We are seeking an experienced software development specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of accessibility.
Job Description:
* Design and develop accessible solutions for web applications, working closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver features and experiments worldwide.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt AI-driven solutions and enhance efficiency and scalability.
* Work primarily on frontend development using TypeScript, with occasional work in other languages and environments.
* Facilitate knowledge sharing and effectively communicate engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group.
* Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals and improving processes and solutions.
An ideal candidate will have commercial experience in software development, preferably with experience in building internal/external SDKs or APIs. Our frontend stack consists of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, MobX, etc., and experience in some of these would be valuable but not required.
Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns, are essential. Previous experience in working collaboratively with team members and communicating effectively, as well as giving feedback to your team members, is also necessary.
Experience writing accessible code and reading detailed specifications (WCAG 2.2 AA, ATAG 2.0) is preferred, but a genuine interest and commitment to creating an accessible experience for all users goes a long way. A deep nuanced appreciation and understanding of different disability models, universal design, and accessibility-related standards are desirable.
