As our existing Allied Health team continues to do excellent work, our referral base is growing rapidly, creating opportunities to expand our team. The successful candidate will have the chance to participate in improving lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services across a range of care needs, from short-term to complex, long-term cases. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing assessments and reports, e.g., Sensory Profile, Functional Assessments, Cognitive Functional Assessments, Multi-disciplinary Assessments (FASD, Motor Skills Assessment, Housing and Support Needs Assessments);
* Identifying Occupational Therapy goals with clients and/or their families or carers;
* Developing Occupational Therapy intervention plans;
* Providing support in various settings, including home, community, schools, clinics, or via telehealth where appropriate;
* Developing individual resources and strategies for clients;
* Training parents, carers, and support workers;
* Attending Care Team Meetings and providing Occupational Therapy input.
Our Occupational Therapists have access to a variety of assessment tools, such as Child and Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile, WHODAS 2.0, Vineland-3, CEFI, PEDI-CAT, BOT-2, BRIE-2, HoNOS, LSP-16, DACSA, MSE, Interest Checklist, and Role Checklist.
The position is suitable for experienced practitioners and recent graduates alike, as we aim to tailor caseloads, supervision, and training to individual needs.
While our primary office location is in Darwin, opportunities exist to work regionally (e.g., Katherine, Alice Springs) and within remote Indigenous communities (e.g., Maningrida, Gunbalanya). There is also an option to work from home for administrative and report-writing tasks.
The Northern Territory offers a unique landscape of tropical and desert environments, with national parks and diverse wildlife. Joining our NT team provides a chance to experience parts of Australia rarely seen, while making meaningful and impactful contributions.
Requirements:
* A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration (or eligibility to register) with AHPRA.
Desirable Experience, Interests, and Skills:
* Experience or interest in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or trauma with complex needs;
* Experience or interest in comprehensive assessments of functional needs, sensory profiling, and holistic lifestyle assessments with goal setting;
* Experience or interest in administering and interpreting various assessment tools.
Due to the nature of our work, staff must:
* Hold a current Driver’s Licence;
* Possess a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or be able to obtain these.
