Natural Regenerator - Landcare Services Unit – Casual
Position Description
This role presents an opportunity to join a highly regarded, Catchment-based environmental works team and social enterprise.
The Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) engages in environmental conservation across Greater Brisbane with innovative, collaborative programs uniting communities and stakeholders in a shared mission to nurture and protect our natural environment.
This role involves on ground bush regeneration through weed and erosion control, tool maintenance, herbicide use, site preparation, planting, and supporting volunteer engagement.
The role is casual, up to five days a week, with a pathway to permanency following performance review and operational needs.
Key Accountabilities
* Participate in projects aimed at restoring native bushland and ecosystems, employing best practices in bush regeneration techniques.
* Identify, assess, and implement effective weed control strategies to protect native vegetation and habitats.
* Teamwork and planning skills to deliver work that aligns with specific project objectives and client expectations.
* Adhere to the highest standards of environmental and workplace safety.
* Detailed documentation of all works, observations, and project results.
Essential Criteria:
* A basic understanding of native/invasive plants (or willingness to learn)
* Minimum three-day availability. Preferably 5 days availability
* Chemical certification – ACDC. (or willingness to obtain)
* Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
* Construction industry white card.
* Driver's licence.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience with, and basic maintenance of, tools and equipment such as brush cutters, augers, pumps, and other small engine-powered gear (e.g. chemical sprayers, water pumps, or chainsaws).
* Chainsaw Certificate Level 1 & 2
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Cert I or above in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or similar)

Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) is a non-profit environmental organisation established in 1997, dedicated to protecting and restoring natural bushland and waterways. Through the Landcare Services Unit (LSU), B4C delivers professional ecological services that complement and support the organisation's broader catchment management and community programs.
Job Details
Employment Type:
Initial Casual employment with a pathway to permanency following performance review and operational needs.
Work Pattern:
Primarily field-based team delivering ecological restoration works in line with project scopes.
Hours:
Generally, 7.5 hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Standard hours are 7:00 am – 2:30 pm, with seasonal variation. Weekend work may occasionally be requested.
Commencement:
Preferably early to mid-January/ early-February 2026.
Wages:
To be negotiated, commensurate with experience and demonstrated skills and qualifications.
Reports to:Operations Manager, Landcare Services Unit.
Work Location:From Worksite or Depot as Scheduled. Primarily South-East Brisbane Region.
Depot Location:Cnr Wright Street and 1358 Old Cleveland Road, Carindale QLD 4152.
