So let us give you the rundown on who you will be assisting to live their best life…
You will be supporting a dynamic and spirited 48-year-old Client who experiences many complex challenges. These challenges mean our Client requires emotional supports as well as some minor prompting for personal cares and domestic support. There may be a community participation aspect of this in the form of assisting to go shopping and perhaps appointments, but most importantly, she really wants people to have a bit of fun with and who can help her with navigating life. She does like going into the community for field trips but is just as comfortable staying indoors.
It is not all socialising though, our Client does need people who are sympathetic to mental health / psychosocial developmental challenges and physical limitations and who are able to deescalate situations of anxiety or distress.
Additionally, the ideal Support Worker is someone who is resilient, has a 'thick skin' and can manage challenging situations with patience, understanding and compassion. Given her diagnosis of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, she has cognitive and developmental challenges but underneath is an extremely dynamic and loving individual … who is also a cat lover.
This Client requires female Support Workers only please.
It's not all on you though, as you will have support in this via a dedicated QSSS Support Specialist as well as training provided by experiences Support Workers and a Behavioural Support Practitioner who can assist you in ensuring you are absolutely set up to have an awesome time with this person.
We are looking for someone with availability across varies days, and someone who is comfortable to support when urgent shifts arise.
Shifts Available:
* Tuesday's & Saturdays 9:00am to 3:00pm.
* Thursday's & Fridays Fortnightly 3:00pm – 9:00am with a sleepover between 10:00pm – 6:00am.
QSSS hourly rates are Weekday $35.66, Evening $38.30, Night $39.33, Saturday $48.65, Sunday $62.62, Public Holidays $76.38 -(sorry, rate not negotiable).
We also support our staff through our EAP service which offers 4 x free counselling sessions where required, as well as discounted physiotherapy sessions at select physio practices while also having the assurance of consistency of Clients you support. You have a comprehensive suite of online learning to support you and face to face learnings.

* Provide support to our Clients as required
* Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
* Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required
* Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
* To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
To be successful you must:
