The Retail Delivery Lead plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of initiatives that underpin the Retail business's strategic and operational success. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating cross-functional initiatives across compliance, product and campaign delivery, pricing, operations, and credit & collections.

Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery partners, the Delivery Lead ensures initiatives are well-defined, prioritised, and delivered on time, within scope, and with clear business outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Delivery & Execution
o Drive and facilitate the end-to-end delivery of Retail initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and priorities.
o Translate business objectives into clearly defined delivery plans, milestones, and outcomes.
o Coordinate activities across multiple teams to ensure dependencies, risks, and delivery impacts are actively managed.
o Maintain momentum on initiatives through effective planning, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
* Stakeholder Engagement
o Act as a trusted delivery partner to Retail stakeholders across compliance, product, campaigns, pricing, operations, and credit & collections.
o Facilitate workshops, forums, and governance sessions to support decision-making and progress tracking.
o Communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
* Ensure initiatives adhere to internal governance processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations.
* Identify delivery risks and issues early, developing mitigation strategies and escalating where appropriate.
* Support readiness for audits, assurance reviews, and regulatory milestones.
* Planning & Prioritisation
o Support prioritisation of Retail initiatives to maximise customer, risk, and commercial outcomes.
o Work with planning and analytics partners to understand impacts, trade-offs, and capacity constraints.
o Ensure delivery plans remain flexible and responsive to shifting business priorities.
* Contribute to improving delivery practices, tools, and ways of working within the Retail Planning Team.
* Capture lessons learned and promote repeatable, scalable delivery approaches.
* Support a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
* Navigating complex project delivery risks by identifying emerging risks and issues early, then coordinating timely corrective actions across small, cross‐functional teams of subject matter experts within a large retail environment.
* Operating effectively in a fast‐paced environment where creative, pragmatic problem‐solving is required to address ambiguity, competing demands, and evolving business needs.
* Working within strict regulatory constraints, particularly those governing restricted pricing and promotional tactics for energy products and services, while still delivering commercial and customer outcomes.
* Establishing consistency and discipline in maturing processes that are still evolving from a start‐up or rapid growth phase and may lack standardisation or clear ownership.
* Building and sustaining productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, often with differing objectives, expectations, and levels of influence.
* Coordinating multiple parties with competing priorities, balancing delivery timelines, resource constraints, and stakeholder expectations to maintain momentum and outcomes.

Knowledge, experience (including qualification) and skills

Knowledge and experience:

* Tertiary qualified in business (or similar).
* 5 years' experience in cross company project / delivery leadership.
* 5 years' experience working directly with senior Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Operational leaders.
* Strong analytical and project management skills.
* Experience working with key project management and delivery software. In particular Jira, Confluence and MS Office suite.
* Practical understanding of the energy (or similar utilities type) market preferred.

* Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and attention to detail in planning and execution, ensuring activities are completed with full compliance to both regulatory obligations and internal policies.

* Communication Skills: Effective communication and presentation skills to inform stakeholders and organise program participants at various levels of the organisation.
* Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and drive the intended business outcomes.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced environment within the energy sector.
* Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges related to market dynamics, operational efficiency, and customer engagement.
* Results-Oriented: Highly motivated by "getting stuff done", always following through and delivering on commitments.
* Customer Experience: Demonstrates strong consideration and awareness of potential customer impacts, with a view to delivering best possible customer experience.
* Quality: Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across systems, processes and people impacts.
