We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to take on a hands-on leadership role within our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to step up, mentor others, and contribute to high-quality fabrication projects.
About the Role
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will mark out, shape, form and join sheet metal and other materials to create high-quality products and components. You will work closely with the production team to ensure precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements.
* Select the appropriate metal stock, such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, or others, ensuring that all sizes and gauges meet the specifications.
* Mark out, cut, shape, and form metal stock using a range of hand and power tools, including guillotines, press brakes, rollers, shears, presses, and hammers.
* Fit and assemble components through welding, riveting, soldering, and other joining techniques.
* Finish and polish products to the required standards.
* Oversee daily workshop operations, supporting junior tradespeople and maintaining workflow efficiency.
* Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and production standards.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with project planning as needed.
About You

Candidates must possess unrestricted Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
You'll bring:
* Trade qualification as a Sheet Metal Worker (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and finishing of sheet metal components.
* Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Commitment to safety and quality at all times.
Desirable
* Experience leading or mentoring a small team.
* Familiarity with fabrication project planning or on-site assembly.
* Experience in specialised sheet metal work with different materials will be highly regarded.
* Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal Working) preferred but not essential.
