About the Division
The Academy Services Division provides a range of specialist services to teams across the Academy, and to program participants (potential and current) to ensure high quality professional learning, and an optimal experience for our stakeholders. The Division's four specialist areas include learning design, data evaluation and evidence, communications and marketing, and participant and program support.
About the Role
The Digital Learning Designer role works within the Learning, Development and Innovation team, which is responsible for the design, development and quality assurance of the Academy's professional learning portfolio, ensuring the deployment of evidence-informed and participant-centred learning design practices in the creation of courses and programs.
Designers within the team fall into two specialisations, focusing on learning design and digital learning design respectively, which work closely together to deliver seamless learning design services for the Academy.
As a Digital Learning Designer, you can expect to:
* facilitate an end-to-end design process for Academy programs, from needs analysis through to program delivery and evaluation
* support the ongoing quality management of programs through iterative review and approval processes, including participant feedback loops
* apply your knowledge of physical and digital learning environments to create transformative face-to-face, online and hybrid experiences for participants, including exploring a variety of digital learning tools
* build collaborative relationships with internal project teams, department stakeholders and external subject matter experts
* support the implementation of design principles and standards, informed by relevant research and experience
* contribute to capability building and innovation across the team and across Academy programs.
Capabilities
Successful applicants for this role will be able to demonstrate capabilities and experience in the following areas.
* Specialist expertise in learning design, including broad knowledge of adult learning principles and design practices and demonstrated experience leading the design, development and evaluation of learner-centred professional learning experiences.
* Expertise in using a variety of digital learning tools and technologies to support engaging and effective learning experiences, including learning management systems, collaboration tools and authoring software, and the ability to apply these effectively in online, hybrid and face-to-face settings.
* Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement abilities, including the ability to build positive partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels, through effective communication, influence and consultation skills.
* Strong project management skills, including demonstrated experience working across multiple complex projects with tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments, delivering tangible outcomes aligned with project objectives, within agreed timelines and budgets.
* Understanding of professional learning requirements across different educational settings, including the ability quickly to familiarise yourself with department and organisational priorities and objectives, and the Academy's broad professional learning portfolio.
* A flexible approach, including the ability to adapt rapidly to changing priorities, and balance openness to new ideas with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes for the organisation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant experience in learning design, instructional design, or related fields is highly desirable.
* Qualifications in learning design, instructional design, digital development or related disciplines are desirable but not essential.
