Analyst – business advisory & m&a (melbourne)

Melbourne
Emanda Ventures
Posted: 6 October
Offer description

Emanda Ventures partners with business owners and entrepreneurs to raise capital, scale operations, acquire businesses, and ultimately exit on their terms. We combine deep financial and strategic capability with an entrepreneurial mindset to deliver practical outcomes across all stages of growth.

We are growing our team and seeking a motivated individual to join us as an Analyst, supporting our advisory, deal execution, and operational scaling efforts.

The Role

As our first Analyst, you will be instrumental in how we analyse businesses, develop advisory frameworks, and deliver value to our clients. You’ll not only work across business advisory, financial modelling, valuations, and M&A; transactions, but also play a role in helping clients improve the way they operate and grow.

You will:

- Review and interrogate financial and operational reports from client businesses and potential acquisitions
- Deliver robust financial modelling, scenario analysis, and valuation work
- Assist with the preparation of Information Memorandums, due diligence materials, and transaction documentation
- Support system and process improvement projects within client portfolios
- Liaise with CFOs, business unit leaders, and external stakeholders to understand issues and drive insight
- Contribute to broader business advisory beyond pure finance, helping clients refine strategy and operations
- Providing AFSL-related advice and compliance support (training and certification provided if required).

We are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation and a genuine interest in stepping beyond traditional accounting into broader business advisory.

What You’ll Bring

- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or equivalent (CA/CPA or working toward preferred)
- 2–5 years’ experience in a quantitative/transactional environment (e.g. transaction services, corporate finance, private equity, or business advisory)
- Strong analytical, modelling, and accounting skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to spot issues and craft insights
- High level of curiosity, “can-do” attitude, and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, able to summarise findings for both technical and non-technical audiences
- A genuine interest in AI, technology, and their role in shaping the future of business
- Full unrestricted Australian work rights

What we offer:

- Be part of a lean team with exposure to a broad range of advisory and deal work
- Full support for professional certification (CPA/CA if required).
- Opportunity for accelerated learning, mentorship, and growth
- Significant direct exposure to founders, executives, and strategic decisions
- A culture that values collaboration, practicality, and long-term relationships

Who This Role Suits

This is an ideal step for someone who has built their technical skills in accounting or finance and is now looking to move into a broader advisory role. If you want to contribute beyond finance, help businesses grow, raise capital, acquire other companies, and eventually exit, this role offers that opportunity.

Base pay range

A$85,000.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr

To apply, submit your resume and a cover letter (max 1 page) outlining why you’re a fit for this role and your expectations.
