Job Description
As a geologist with our organization, you will play a pivotal role in the exploration and operational activities across the Yilgarn region. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to resource definition, operational geology, and rehabilitation efforts in a growing operation.
We are seeking experienced professionals to support significant exploration, resource definition, and operational geology activities across the Yilgarn Hub. Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will assist in geological data collection, exploration programs, and resource modelling.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting exploration programs and resource definition across Yilgarn tenements.
* Assisting in the reclassification of BIF-hosted hematite resources to meet JORC standards.
* Conducting field mapping, drill coordination, logging, and data analysis.
* Ensuring exploration activities align with and support rehabilitation goals, maintaining environmental compliance.
* Assisting with gravity surveys and geological investigations to enhance resource definition.
* Providing geological support for grade control and operational activities, ensuring efficient mine planning.
* Maintaining geological data and ensuring QA/QC standards are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A tertiary qualification in geology or a related discipline.
* Experience in iron ore operations or exploration (preferably BIF-hosted hematite).
* Strong technical skills in geological data analysis, exploration, and resource modelling.
* Familiarity with drilling, mapping, and geological logging techniques.
* Experience in operational geology, particularly in grade control.
* Familiarity with gravity surveys and geophysical data interpretation.
* A manual C-Class WA Driver's Licence.
