Your new role
As Chief Security Officer, you'll lead the strategic direction of organisational security across a diverse portfolio of defence programs. You'll be responsible for safeguarding people, assets, and information while shaping the company's integrated security posture. This senior management role offers a unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on influence, working closely with executive stakeholders and global partners.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and executing a comprehensive security strategy aligned with government and enterprise frameworks
* Advising senior leadership on risk, threats, and incident response
* Leading a team of 30+ multi-disiplined persons.
* Ensuring compliance with DISP, PSPF, and other regulatory requirements
* Collaborating with cybersecurity teams to strengthen digital defences
* Overseeing physical security across multiple facilities
* Leading internal and external audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required:
* Solid experience in senior security leadership within defence or aerospace industry.
* Australian Citizenship with ideally NV2 clearance or eligibility for TSPV
* Deep understanding of PSPF, DISP, ISM, and regulatory frameworks
* Strong crisis management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proven people leadership & management skills - all levels.
Desirable:
* Experience in cybersecurity and information security management
* Familiarity with global defence prime contractors
* Tertiary qualifications in Security, Risk, Cybersecurity, or Defence Studies
* Experience integrating physical and cybersecurity strategies
