**The core capability requirements for this role are**:
- Lead, develop, mentor and recruit expert procurement resources as required for a team responsible for developing and managing policy, processes, and templates, data extraction and analysis. Provide specialist, authoritative and professional advice to internal and external clients, committees, and boards on procurement, operational and contracting issues. Develop and maintain Queensland Police Service Procurement Policy and annual Procurement Plans for Queensland Police Service in line with whole-of-government guidelines. Develop and maintain the client services engagement platforms for the Procurement Services Group and manage the Queensland Governmentprocurement reporting obligations on behalf of the Queensland Police Service. Manage SAP compliance in relation to procurement and develop strategies, tools and templates that align Queensland Police Service to Queensland Government Procurement. Manage a small team of professional governance officers and prepare high level policy papers, submissions, briefs, and reports on complex procurement and contracts related issues and initiatives. Manage internal procurement reporting requirements on behalf of Queensland Police Service. Ability to conduct online and face to face training sessions based on newly developed tools and templates.
**Role Requirements**:
Qualification
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, business, or a related field are highly desirable.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- Experience in procurement within a government or large organisational setting is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in procurement systems (like SAP), coupled with the ability to lead and mentor a team, would be beneficial to success in this position.
