Ecology Specialist Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Ecology Specialist to join our team in Australia. As an Ecology Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing science programs at one or more of our properties and partnership sites.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in ecology or a related field, with experience in vertebrate ecology and conservation practices. They will also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage projects and staff effectively.
This is a senior position within our South East Science team, reporting to the Regional Ecologist (South East). The role involves leading key programs related to ecological monitoring, species reintroduction, and research, as well as collaborating with operational staff and external partners.
Critical competencies for this role include:
* Conservation knowledge: Advanced understanding of Australian wildlife and ecosystems, including key threats and mitigation strategies.
* Ecological expertise: Excellent field and research skills, including knowledge of ecological literature, experimental design, sampling methods, and statistical analysis using relevant software.
* Leadership and collaboration: Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience managing staff and volunteers in remote field environments.
