About the Role

Reporting to the local Area Account Manager, this role blends technical expertise with clinical support. You will play a key role in educating and training hospital staff on the use of Brainlab systems, while also applying your biomedical engineering knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise our medical devices.

The position will be home-based in Perth, working closely with the local team. Duties will primarily occur during normal business hours, with occasional after-hours or weekend support when required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site and remote clinical support for Brainlab Image Guided Surgery products during surgical procedures across multiple disciplines, including Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery.

Apply biomedical engineering knowledge to analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including preventative maintenance, hardware repairs, and system calibration.

Train and educate hospital personnel (surgeons, nurses, radiographers, biomedical engineers, IT staff) on the use and maintenance of Brainlab systems.

Assist radiology departments in pre-operative scanning procedures.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clinical stakeholders.

Coordinate system installations, software updates, system upgrades, and documentation in accordance with Brainlab procedures.

Participate in international training programs, including a structured training period in Munich, Germany.

Support broader team initiatives including product demonstrations, customer feedback, and service contract renewals.

Skills and Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Biomedical Engineering preferred

Strong technical problem-solving ability, with experience in troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining complex systems (medical devices or related equipment highly regarded).

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments

Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously from a home-based office

Solid attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to patient outcomes

Must hold a current Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Flexibility to occasionally work after hours and travel interstate and internationally as required

Previous experience in hospital or clinical settings is advantageous, but not essential
