COMSEC Compliance Officers, Cryptographic Enablement Officers & Key Managers
Cryptographic Strategy, Governance and Services is looking for motivated applicants to fulfil the following vacancies at the ASD 4 and ASD5 levels:
COMSEC Compliance and Assurance Officers
As a COMSEC Compliance and Assurance Officer you will undertake risk based compliance and assurance activities including engaging with the Australian and international COMSEC community, providing support to the National COMSEC Incident Office, participating in compliance checks and compliance monitoring activities. You will provide a critical oversight role in support of Government and ADF operations ensuring the integrity of COMSEC solution.
Cryptographic Enablement Officers
As a Cryptographic Enablement Officer you will provide support, expert advice and assistance to Government and the ADF in delivering new and evolving cryptographic capability. These roles work closely with stakeholders during the project phase of capability delivery where classified communications solutions are required. You will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of cryptographic capability and COMSEC requirements while liaising across both strategic and tactical environments.
Cryptographic Key Managers
As a key manager you will be responsible for the generation, distribution and accounting of cryptographic keying material to support the Government, the ADF and our partners. You will have the opportunity to develop bespoke skills and knowledge in cryptographic solutions, foster relationships and work closely with stakeholders across the Government, in addition to supporting critical ADF operations.
About the Team
The Cryptographic Strategy, Governance and Services (CSGS) section is the Australian Government National Authority for Communications Security (COMSEC). COMSEC is the measures applied to protect government telecommunications from unauthorised interception and exploitation and to ensure the authenticity of these telecommunications.
The section has highly skilled subject matter experts supporting a growing workforce that have a broad set of responsibilities across the COMSEC realm. The Cryptographic Strategy, Governance and Services section is responsible for delivering cryptographic support to protect Australia's most classified Government systems through compliance, policy, advice, services and capability.
Our work is driven by threat intelligence and framed by the Australian Protective Security Policy Framework, Information Security Manual and national COMSEC policy. At the core our mission supports Government and the Australian Defence Force in meeting both strategic and tactical classified communications requirements.
