Senior Software Engineer - Westpac Institution Banking (WIB) Technology Team
This role supports the development of a new portal/API and applications for Corporate and Institutional clients, using technologies such as React.js, TypeScript, Redux, and Node.js. Experience in Java and AWS cloud is beneficial.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting an enterprise-level API-based platform.
Main Responsibilities:
* Writing high-quality, bug-free code and building APIs.
* Providing technical input to strategic technology investments.
* Identifying and mitigating technology dependencies on solution delivery.
* Developing and implementing technology solutions within agreed timeframes and best practices.
* Engaging with Architects, Consultants, Infrastructure, and Security Specialists to link technical needs with solution design.
* Participating in Westpac Engineering communities and providing feedback to platform teams like Service Mesh.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Senior Engineer role.
* Strong technical knowledge in Java 11+, RESTful APIs, Spring boot, and AWS Data Technologies.
* Expertise in React JS, Redux, Node JS, Kafka/MQ, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), Splunk, and AppDynamics.
* Prior experience in developing and implementing APIs achieving project objectives.
* Prior experience in solution design and working across multiple programs.
* Background in software development and agile methodologies.
* Understanding of Banking and Financial Services highly regarded.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to consult various stakeholders, continuous improvement mindset, proactive nature, and focus on delivering business value.
