Recovery Nurse
The recovery nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth transition of patients from surgery to full recovery. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional who can provide expert care and support to patients during this critical period.
* This includes monitoring patient vitals, managing pain and nausea, and facilitating effective communication with medical staff.
* In addition to providing exceptional patient care, the recovery nurse must also demonstrate strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing, or be working towards one, and have a minimum of one year's experience in a recovery setting.
A postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing is desirable but not essential. However, all applicants must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and certified in advanced life support.
Key Selection Criteria
1. Evidence of tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA
2. Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing (or working towards)
3. Certified in advanced life support
4. Minimum one year's experience in a recovery setting
5. Working knowledge of RosterOn, Riskman, Trendcare, and Microsoft applications
6. Working knowledge of patient flow and bed management
7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
