Position Overview
The General Manager, ANZP (Australia, New Zealand & Pacific), leads all partner and customer facing activities in the region. This includes developing and executing a quarterly and annual operating plan, reporting directly to the SVP of Americas and APAC.
The ANZP business generates tens of millions of dollars in revenue per year from residential and commercial installations, offering significant growth potential as battery adoption increases rapidly.
Key Responsibilities
* The General Manager is based in the Melbourne office.
* Main objectives include driving revenue and gross margin increases through effective strategies and business plans.
* SUCCESS will be measured by sell-thru revenue, sell-in revenue, gross margin $, and market share.
* The General Manager develops, implements, and manages an effective strategy and business plan based on a thorough understanding of the market and technology.
* The General Manager fully understands market requirements and competitors, aligning regional strategies for optimal results.
* The General Manager leads a team to define and market our differentiation, selling the value in our products and services.
* The General Manager actively participates in regional strategy, including product directions and specifications, while communicating the company's goals and direction throughout the region.
* The General Manager maintains major partner relationships, working to develop new ones.
* The General Manager determines critical skills required across the team and staffing levels necessary to meet business objectives.
* Effective leadership skills inspire, drive, and execute results through others, developing or upgrading talent as needed for success.
* The General Manager communicates effectively across all organization levels, creating a sense of urgency and inspiring excellence.
* This position requires 30-50% travel to partners and the balance of time spent in the Melbourne office.
Required Experience and Skills
* At least 10 years of solar sales and management experience in complex sales environments.
* Thorough understanding of selling to indirect channels via distributors.
* Proven ability to lead Sales for premium and differentiated products.
* Experience running b-to-b businesses within multinational public companies where success relies on delivering innovative solutions to meet partners' requirements.
* Hands-on approach who enjoys visiting partners.
* Experience as a General Manager and leading sales, applications engineering, and marketing teams.
* Experience working with matrixed resources including Operations, Product Management, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources.
* Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills with high standards; hires great talent beneath them and develops talent throughout the organization.
* Ability to work under pressure and time constraints, adjusting to changing market conditions and solving complex projects.
* Demonstrates effective communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills, presenting both good and bad news equally well across various audiences.
