This is a well-known Australian lifestyle brand with serious ecommerce scale. Half a million sessions a month. 150% year on year traffic growth. A leadership team that thinks in numbers and makes decisions on data. This is not a role for someone who reports on what happened. It is a role for someone who looks at the numbers, spots what others miss, forms a financial hypothesis and acts on it.
Supported by your small but mighty team, there are five distinct areas this person owns:
* Day-to-day commercial trading of the Shopify store - the full trading calendar, campaign launches, product drops, promotions, markdown events, bundles, homepage updates. You own what goes live and when.
* Visual merchandising across the entire site - homepage, collection pages, PDPs, search results, landing pages. The right product in the right place at the right time, aligned to stock, sell-through priorities and newness. High standard, consistently maintained.
* Conversion rate and performance - diagnosing why pages are or are not working, running A/B tests, reading results in dollars not percentages, and acting on what you find. Not just reporting on the data. Doing something with it.
* Data and trading insight - GA4 and Shopify used to monitor sessions, conversion rate, AOV and revenue per session. Weekly trading reports that contain clear commercial actions, not commentary on what already happened.
* Testing and innovation roadmap - identifying what to test, prioritising based on revenue impact, running experiments properly and translating results into commercial decisions. Understanding what other brands are doing and bringing that thinking into this business.
What you need
* 5+ years in ecommerce, digital trading or online retail - in a role where you were on the tools yourself, not managing someone who was
* Strong analytical capability - you think in numbers, build models, justify decisions in financial terms and communicate commercial outcomes clearly to senior leadership
* Expertise in GA4 - using data to drive decisions, not just to build dashboards
* Demonstrated experience running A/B tests and CRO programmes - and reading results in financial terms not just percentages
* Experience setting up and executing promotions, launches and onsite campaigns with a high degree of accuracy
* The ability to manage upwards confidently in a lean, founder-led business and take full accountability for outcomes
* Shopify - cool to have, not essential.
