We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Multimedia Specialist (Compositor Artist) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent technical knowledge, and a passion for crafting photoreal visual effects that seamlessly integrate live-action and CG elements.
This role requires both artistic and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments to deliver top-quality work.
Responsibilities
* Create and composite high-quality visual content using 2D and 3D software for feature films, episodic series, and high-end multimedia productions.
* Integrate CG elements, live-action footage, and matte paintings to achieve seamless, photorealistic results that align with creative direction and storytelling.
* Combine multiple render passes (beauty, diffuse, specular, z-depth, matte, etc.) into cohesive, final shots that meet production and artistic standards.
* Maintain consistency in lighting, colour balance, and perspective between CG and live-action elements, ensuring visual realism and continuity.
* Apply advanced compositing techniques, including colour correction, tracking, keying, rotoscoping, and paint work, to deliver high-quality results.
* Reconstruct live-action camera movements in 3D space for accurate CG integration and alignment.
* Interpret creative briefs, storyboards, and feedback from supervisors to deliver results aligned with the director's and client's vision.
* Manage and prioritise tasks efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency across shots and sequences.
* Design and animate digital or motion graphic elements where required to enhance the overall composition and visual storytelling.
* Support the development of internal tools, templates, and look standards to improve efficiency and maintain consistency across projects.
* Stay up to date with emerging software, tools, and industry trends, applying innovative techniques to enhance visual and technical outcomes.
* Communicate proactively with supervisors, producers, and team members to ensure clarity, collaboration, and workflow efficiency.
* Adapt visual content for various formats and platforms, ensuring creative and technical integrity across different media outputs.
* Collaborate effectively with other departments - including Layout, Animation, Lighting, FX, and Production - to resolve technical challenges and support efficient workflows.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Compositor / Multimedia Specialist in a visual effects or post-production environment for at least 4 years.
* Proficiency with Nuke (essential); experience with After Effects or other compositing software is a plus.
* Strong understanding of colour science, lighting principles, and cinematic composition.
* Excellent eye for detail, realism, and visual continuity.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively under supervision or independently.
* Experience with tracking, keying, and cleanup workflows.
* A solid understanding of film formats, frame rates, and delivery standards.
* Positive attitude and strong communication skills, with a willingness to mentor or collaborate with other artists.
