Role Type: Part Time (0.6), Ongoing – 22 hours per week, with flexibility on days
Salary: $68,930.00 Plus Super
About The Role
As a Student Support Officer (internally known as Koorie Tutor), you'll work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one and group support to First Nations students in custody. You'll help learners stay engaged, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond incarceration.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Supporting Koorie students with coursework and learning strategies
* Providing mentoring and encouragement to build confidence
* Creating a safe and respectful learning environment
* Offering culturally responsive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners
We Are Excited About You Because You Have
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122) OR willing to enrol.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* An understanding of the importance of cultural identity and community connection
* Great communication skills and a compassionate listener
