Overview
Treatment Technician (Water and Sewerage) – Dubbo Regional Council. Full-time, based in Dubbo, New South Wales. Join the Water Supply & Sewerage Branch to help keep the Dubbo region safe, growing, and enjoyable by ensuring the supply of clean, reliable drinking water and treating sewage to an environmentally acceptable level.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the effective, productive operation of treatment plants and manage reservoirs, booster stations and sewer pumping stations to ensure high-quality outputs that meet requirements.
- Test water and sewage chemical characteristics to meet industry standards and licence guidelines using best practice procedures.
- Develop chemical testing for water and sewage treatment schedules to enhance treatment plant performance.
- Participate in an on-call roster to respond to service failures via SCADA alarms after hours and on weekends.
- Maintain accurate and current computer databases and schedules.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Certificate III in Water Operations (Treatment) or the ability to obtain within two years of employment.
- Demonstrated experience in the water industry, particularly treating water and wastewater.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- General administrative skills with literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills.
- Experience in the operation of SCADA/telemetry systems.
Desirable
- Completed training in fluoride operations.
- Chlorine gas-handling qualifications.
- MR (Medium Rigid) driver licence.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $72,532 to $84,293 per year, including market allowance. 38-hour week with flexible benefits package options and wellbeing programs.
