What You'll Be Doing

The Clinical Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) level 1, in Child and Family Health Nursing provides clinical leadership and effective day to day management in delivering high-quality, family-centered care to children aged 0–5 years and their families.

This role involves overseeing clinical practice, allocation of resources, managing and mentoring staff, fostering a supportive environment and ensuring safe effective, care for children aged 0-5 years and their families is provided.

Essential Criteria

* License: valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW.
* Registration: Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Selection Criteria

* Current Authority to Practise as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a post graduate Child and Family Health nursing qualification and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
* Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities including effective workload management and resource allocation, with proven ability to manage competing demands to deliver safe effective, high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years and their families.
* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving skills, with experience in facilitating professional development, performance management and organisational change.
* Demonstrated knowledge of and application of current frameworks, strategies, policies and procedures and practice standards within the context of Child and Family Health.
* Extensive knowledge of community-based services for children and families, combined with proficient negotiation and networking skills to foster effective collaboration with stakeholders and enhance integrated service delivery.
* Demonstrated leadership in improving health outcomes for vulnerable families and children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse populations, through culturally sensitive and inclusive practice.
* Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to represent nurses, consult with staff, resolve conflict and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health professionals.
* Demonstrated proficient use of Information Technology and systems such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR), data analytics tools, and digital health applications for improving clinical and operational workflows, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
