About the Role
Peabody seeks an experienced Outbye Mechanical Coordinator to join our Centurion underground mine, located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion, visit our website.
This role reports directly to the Outbye Superintendent, overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and establishment of the underground infrastructure, including conveyor systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sustainable mechanical maintenance processes and methods.
* Lead and motivate the mechanical maintenance crew to optimize equipment performance and deliver the mine plan.
* Manage relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and contractors.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
* Ensure statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment are up-to-date and recorded.
* Verify underground equipment compliance aligns with site standards.
* Assist in budget development and expenditure management via SAP maintenance/purchasing system.
* Oversee execution of weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimize unscheduled work.
* Maintain compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and Peabody policies and procedures.

About You
* Mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in an underground coal mine.
* Extensive knowledge of conveyor systems, maintenance, and management.
* Commitment to safety and ability to foster a positive safety culture.
* Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 & G2).
* Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a high-performing team.
* Proficient with computerized maintenance management systems (SAP) and MS Office suite.
