This is an opportunity to join a newly established Strategic Property and Facilities team, where your work will directly support smarter ways of working, stronger governance and better outcomes for community facilities across the Shire.

Council's community facilities play a critical role in supporting services, connections and activities across the municipality.
The Facilities Management Officer helps ensure these facilities are well‑coordinated, well‑governed and used effectively. By maintaining accurate systems, supporting facility users and providing reliable utilisation and access data, this role supports better planning, stronger governance and improved service outcomes for the community.
This role is about coordination, systems and governance — not day‑to‑day maintenance delivery.

The role
Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Property and Facilities Management, the Facilities Management Officer provides operational coordination, system administration and implementation support for Council's community facilities.
Working closely with the Property Officer and across the organisation, you will:
support and administer facilities booking systems, including user support and data integritymaintain accurate records of facility usage, access arrangements and shared‑use agreementscoordinate keys, swipe cards and access control systems, including audits and register maintenanceprovide governance and administrative support to Community Asset Committeesact as the first point of contact for facility users regarding bookings, access and use conditionssupport grant applications, acquittals and reporting for community facilitiescollect, analyse and report utilisation data to support planning and decision‑makingidentify and escalate operational issues, risks and opportunities to senior staff
This role supports the implementation of frameworks and processes developed by senior staff and contributes valuable operational insights to continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring
You will bring practical experience and a strong foundation in facilities or property coordination, including:
qualifications in facilities management, property, planning, asset management or a related field (or equivalent experience)experience using booking systems, asset or property systemsstrong organisational skills and attention to detailconfidence working with a range of internal and external stakeholdersthe ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesa proactive approach to identifying risks and improving how things are done
