The Margaret River Chocolate Company (MRCC) is seeking a versatile and motivated Production All-Rounder / Pastry Chef / Chocolatier to join our Swan Valley team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who loves baking, working with chocolate, and confectionery while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced production kitchen.
You'll work across chocolate production, and general food manufacturing tasks to support our retail and online operations. If you enjoy variety, creativity, and being part of an iconic WA gourmet brand, this role is for you.
About the Role
In this hybrid production position, you will assist with chocolate tempering and moulding, piping work and confectionery preparation, stock replenishment, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and general kitchen production tasks.
Working under our Senior Chocolatiers, you will help ensure all products meet MRCC's quality standards while maintaining a safe, clean and efficient workspace. You will also contribute to new product ideas and support continuous improvement within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Chocolate & Confectionery Production
* Temper and mould chocolate for bars, slabs and associated products
* Assist with dipping, decorating and finishing chocolate items
* Help prepare components for café or retail product lines
* Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality
* Support confectionery tasks such as brittles or fillings
* Maintain stock levels and advise of supply or ingredient issues
Equipment & Cleaning
* Ensure tempering machines and production equipment are clean and well maintained
* Monitor equipment performance and report faults promptly
* Maintain a clean, sanitised and organised workspace
Food Safety & Compliance
* Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
* Report hazards, incidents or injuries immediately
* Support OH&S practices for a safe working environment
Teamwork & Training
* Work collaboratively with chocolatiers, production staff, FOH and BOH team members
* Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development
* Maintain a positive, professional team culture
What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience
* Experience in chocolate work, baking and / or food production
* Knowledge of chocolate tempering and moulding (highly desirable)
* Understanding of food hygiene and safety requirements
* Ability to follow recipes with consistency and accuracy
* Confidence using commercial kitchen equipment

* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Qualifications
* Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience in pastry, commercial kitchen, bakery, chocolatier or similar environments is highly desirable
