We're looking for a Finance Manager to join our growing office team and support the finance operations of the business as we continue to scale.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the detail, but who is also keen to grow into a broader finance leadership position. Initially, the role will focus on core accounting and finance tasks, with a mix of manual processes and developing systems. As the business evolves, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to improving how things are done and gain exposure to more analytical and commercial aspects of the role.
This is an opportunity to grow alongside the business, build your experience, and take on increased responsibility as the business matures - and as our systems, processes and reporting continue to develop. You'll work closely with the owner of the business and our external management accountant, with strong support and guidance to succeed in the role. You'll also work with our external IT specialists to support the transition from Xero to Microsoft Business Central, including helping design and implement processes to automate many of our current manual finance activities.
What the role involves
* Accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Daily bank reconciliations
* Weekly payroll processing
* Weekly calculation of sales consultant commissions
* Setting, managing and reporting on product pricing
* Management reporting, budgeting and financial analysis
* Input into the project to transition from Xero to Microsoft Business Central with a view to automating the above processes in consultation with external IT partners
* Managing the company asset register
* Financial administration to support the end-to-end finance function
* Supporting the director with financial goals, budgets and reporting
What we're looking for
* Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a hands-on accounting role
* CA or CPA qualification highly regarded, but not essential
* Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Experience working with accounting systems such as Xero; experience with Microsoft Business Central or ERP implementations highly regarded
* Strong understanding of core accounting processes, including AP, AR, journals, payroll and reconciliations
* An analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret financial information and translate it into practical insights that support business decisions
