Breast Care Nurse Role
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is a leading healthcare provider, committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Breast Care Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
This role will involve providing expert clinical advice and consultancy services to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals within the specialty of Breast Disease. As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams and associated outpatient clinics to improve identified areas within the existing McGrath and BCI model of care.
You will be responsible for holding approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty of Breast Cancer Care or qualifications deemed appropriate by WSLHD. Additionally, you must hold a valid NSW Driver's License and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, diagnose, formulate, and manage patients with breast cancer.
2. Provide consultancy advice, education, and support to individuals, their families, nursing staff, and other health professionals.
3. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to identify and improve opportunities to enhance continuity of care between breast cancer and other healthcare services.
Requirements
* Registered Nurse with at least five years post-registration experience in either surgical or medical oncology.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications in breast care nursing or cancer nursing.
* Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis, formulation, and management of patients with breast cancer.
