The opportunity:
As our Mining Coordinator, you'll support the execution of the mine plan by coordinating people, equipment, and daily activities to meet production targets safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Mining Superintendent, you'll help drive performance through smart resource allocation, clear task planning, and a strong focus on compliance and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role that's critical to keeping our production on track.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
* Support the Mining Superintendent with the development and implementation of production plans with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
* Assist crew leaders to optimise daily and weekly production plans, utilising your extensive experience with Load and Haul activities to meet all production targets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Carry out and continuously improve effective inspection and reporting processes in accordance with relevant site policies and procedures.
* Assist with the co-ordination of production operators and equipment to deliver the production schedule in line with weekly plan.
* Have input to plans to reduce costs and improve mining efficiency.
* Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities.
* Participate in incident investigations within the mining function and support a culture of continuous improvement.
About you:
To be considered for this role you are required to have:
* Proven experience as a Crew Supervisor or equivalent in open cut coal mining, with at least 5 years operating mining equipment.
* A strong understanding of open cut mining operations, particularly Load and Haul processes.
* Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with an approachable and solutions-oriented attitude.
* Proven leadership experience and people management skills is essential.
* Relevant qualifications aligned with mining operations and safety (e.g. S123, G2, Standard 11, and current Coal Board Medical).
* Strong communication, planning and problem-solving abilities.
