About the client:
Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier1 Wafi‐Golpu copper‐gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high‐grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is constructing the Eva Copper Mine in Cloncurry, QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
About the role:
The Field Engineer is a site‐based role managing civil and structural engineering across a major program of works. You will work closely with construction teams to ensure engineering, safety, quality, program and environmental requirements are met on site.
Key responsibilities:
* Managing civil and structural engineering activities to ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements across the program.
* Developing and managing construction work packs to support safe and efficient delivery.
* Acting as the key point of contact for design clarifications and site‐based engineering queries.
* Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation and safe work practices.
* Liaising with engineers, designers and project teams to support efficient site delivery.
Additional role details:
This role will be DIDO from local communities or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville to our site in Cloncurry NW QLD, with local candidates highly regarded. Local employees are paid a regional allowance and a competitive salary. Roster is 14 days on, 7 days off. Please note: this is a maximum term role aligned with the project completion and close out, anticipated to be 31May.
Experience Required:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil or Structural or Mechanical).
* At least 5 years project‐based experience.
* A problem solver with an eye for detail.
* Commercially astute with the ability to drive and maintain programme.
* Strong stakeholder management experience.
* Previous experience working in remote project environments is highly regarded.
